Bruce Residence

Project details

This Home represented a unique opportunity to design a functional and large family home within the bush Suburb of Bruce. Jaegar Circuit has an extensive character with a connection to the outdoors, the home relates to this with vistas created throughout the home with window and glazing positioning. The Home sits elevated from the street, but sits on one level connecting to the backyard and tennis court which was retained from the original dwelling.

The inclusion of design elements such as the pop-up ceiling to the kitchen and the sunken-lounge living area represented areas of careful coordination between the Builder, Architect, and Interior Designer and it is these features of the home which provide the client with the personal connection as these were all things that they desired for their home.

The large block which unfortunately had a termite damaged home was carefully preserved where possible with the existing pool, tennis court, and studio to the rear all retained and protected during construction and integrated into the design of the new home which was a feat of careful planning and construction methods.
